Today is Pink Shirt Day.. A day that was started in Canada, after a boy got bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. His school rallied around him, and a group of boys decided to wear pink shirts to show support. But today I feel only sadness. Today I can only think of Phoebe Prince. She was a beautiful soul.. relentlessly bullied day in and day out - at school, at home, online, via text msg, and everybody knew. EVERYBODY - teachers, "friends", the principal. And not one person did one goddamned thing. Not the school, not her peers.. NOONE. On Jan 14th, 2010, after yet another day of constant harassment, incl a Red Bull can being thrown at her head on the way home from school, she walked in her door, up to her room, and hung herself. Even after her suicide, the menace persisted; comments were plastered all over her facebook, her family's sites, anything online that mentioned her name. She is gone now, and noone can ever take back what was done to her. I feel so beyond horror, so beyond tears. Pink shirts might not have saved her.. but someone could have. Someone could have helped pull her out of the personal hell she was in. Will you be that person, for the next Phoebe Prince?

I love love love this song. This is a live version by Scott Weiland of a song he did w/The Magnificent Bastards, which was featured in the Tank Girl movie soundtrack (a now not-so-secret favourite of mine!).

T he other thing I have to tell you about is: The Dressing Room outlet. It is a collection of amazing clothing @ ridiculously afforable prices, from AMAZING designers (incl this dress from So Many Styles). I stumbled accidentally on this place today, and now I see it on the feeds. I guess everything is going to be between 40-70L, w/a rotating cast of designers every 2 weeks. So this outfit is inspired by both the gorgeous Nickel Creek song I have running through my head, and by Clawtooth By Clawtooth's recent Halloween release of Pink Champagne hair in Softest Black (75L for a 2pk of colours, 4 styles of hair to choose from). I love the romantic soft dreaminess of this hair. I knew I needed an equally soft, romantic, vaguely 20s inspired headband, and when I slipped on the Rozen Maiden Headdress from Tarnished (oL Hunt Gift, tho I cannot remember which for the life of me.. perhaps the Twisted Hunt?), it was perfect.


The skin I am wearing in another Phoebe Skin from lessthanthree, Makeup 01. Softly coloured, it just fit the mood of the outfit I wanted. These go for 600L/skin, and you get a bald base or a hair base option, as well as special Phoebe Cates inspired eyes, with each makeup. You can also buy the fatpack for 4000L, which might seem like a lot, but she includes the 6 skins she released to her group memebers, never to be given out again, so you get an incredible deal! Plus, you can purchase these at the Skin Fair, and 50% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research.


The rest of my outfit is comprised of Decoy's hooded blazer (0L/fatpack for a limited time), OhMai's Hi Rise tank (5L/colourpk), Humming's wool check skirt (1L), Kneesocks Mit Suspenders from Pig Shop (75L), and 50 Flat's Moss Wool Flap Flats (0L in store gift). I love this whole outfit. It is exactly what I'd love to wear on those Fall days that are just crisp enough to wear layers, but warm enough that they aren't heavy ones.

Pig Is A Fawn

This morning I woke up to a thrilling sight - a plethora of goodness from This Is A Fawn! Oodles and oodles of detailed loverliness, and I knew instantly where to take the shots - the shared This Is A Fawn/Pig Shop @ Feed Your Head (http://http//slurl.com/secondlife/Red%20Queen/102/37/23). Nothing else could be done, but to mix the two shops together (and throw a piece or two in from elsewhere natch). As always, click the pics for a larger shot.

First up is the awesome Phonics Tee (80L). I seriously plan to run around the grid looking for other letters to see what we spell! Be on the lookout for me, and others, and we'll post them to Fawn's Flickr! With it I have on Pig Shop's Masculine Gingham shirt (0L older Starlust Group gift) and Kneesocks Mit Suspenders (75L/colour). I also have on Hoorenbeek's kicks (oL but i have no idea if they are still available cos they are an old favourite pair), and shorts from Ladybird (0L Opening Gift). My barrette is from Four Yip's Roly Poly Dress (0L), and the hair is Maitreya (200L).

Here I'm wearing the Faux Bois tee (80L)which is one of my favourites. I've paired it with Pig Shop's Thermal Henleys (0L - Starlust Hunt Gift, I think?) I've had these forever and they are a wardrobe staple. I really love the soft colours and texturing. Everything else is the same as above (See? It is possible to use staple items so it looks different everytime.. at least to me).

Next up is a dress I see as one of OMG's signature pieces - the Hax Dress (80L ea/comes in 3 basic colours, with special versions available for RFL). I have only shown the blue, but the other colours are just as beautiful, and her skirts are the perfect amount of flounce and poofiness. Also have on Pig Shop's Socks Mit Suspenders (0L Starlust Group Gift, along with the red ones coming up, but now available for 75L ea colour), and Blue Ballet Rose flats from 50 Flats (0L not sure if they are still available though).

Lastly, I am wearing the Hound Skirt (100L ea/5 colours to choose from). I love this skirt - awesome pleating, and perfect waistband. I've worn it with Pig's aforementioned socks, Whippet & Buck's jacket (0L subscribo gift), F&C's previously blogged bat beater, and flatts of cherry cuteness from 50 Flats (0L - lucky board gift).
